Ootoya, Hankyu Dept Store, Taipei

We had wanted to try the katsudon restaurant in the basement of Hankyu Dept Store as it seemed very popular. However, it was fully booked, so we decided to try Ootoya instead. My aunt had taken me to try Ootoya in Tokyo before. It's apparently a pretty popular chain restaurant.

I remembered my aunt telling me that their soba was very good, so I ordered this:

Cold soba noodles with breaded chicken katsu ...

I found the chicken a tad too fatty, but the soba was REALLY good!

We also ordered some beef in a kimchi hotpot ... this was also pretty tasty.
