Hot Spring Geysers, Hakone, Tokyo

Kanagawa Scenic Spot - this area is famous for their hot spring geysers - you can see the steam rising from the ground, and smell the sulphuric stench as you approach this area.

A view of Mount Fuji as we were driving to Hakone ... compare it to our view from the Kanagawa Scenic Spot ...

The view of Mount Fuji from Kanagawa Scenic Spot... if you're like me, you'd be asking "where?" ... apparently, for a good part of the year, Mount Fuji is usually obscured by clouds like this ...

A lake nearby

Look at the queue of cars coming up to Kanagawa Scenic Spot!

Another transport alternative ... the cable car ...
but we've been discovering that due to the huge Japanese population, going anywhere popular is equated to getting stuck in a massive jam in Japan ...

Cooking eggs in the sulphuric hot springs ...

Voila! Hot spring eggs! Look at their charcoal black shells!

Inside, they look and taste the same as eggs cooked normally. But the Japanese believe that eating eggs cooked in sulphuric hot springs add 7 years to one's life...

Smaller sulphuric hot spring pools ...
