Back in Taipei ... Lunch at Da Fang

We had some vouchers for lunch at Da Fang, so I was pretty excited cos the food at Da Fang is always interesting. They pride themselves in serving food that is healthy and tasty. Portions are small, but there are many courses.

First off, soup with some unusual Chinese herbs ...

Raw onions in a special sauce ...

Special Tea ...

Beetroot juice ...

Grating pink Himalayan rock salt, which is supposedly healthier and less salty than sea salt ...

Loofah with apple in the center ...

A vegetable and fruit salad ... we were specifically told to eat from right to left (including the skin of the orange!) as that was the order in which the flavours grew stronger ...

Fresh and succulent prawns! Yum!

Codfish in strawberry and fermented rice wine paste ... interesting! And yummy!

Spring chicken ...

Lovely juicy button mushrooms!

Slices of pork being steamed ...

Vegetables with the raw onions (see above) ... the vegetables were fried without oil or much seasoning (to keep it healthy), so we were told to eat these with the special chopped onions if we wanted it more tasty ...

Finely sliced beef slices to roll the following inside ...

1) Flying Fish Roe

2) Cheese and green chili

3) Mint leaves

The final products!
... With mint

... With cheese and green chili

An arc of eggs!

To be transformed into ...

"Egg Pancakes"!!! How interesting!!!

Stir-fried Tang-O ...

And a special dessert ...

Popcorn! :)
